Community Sponsored Events

The Breakfast Club, which will meet on an occasional basis, is an informal group of service-minded individuals who support the hospital and wish to learn more about ways they can be involved. Committee members will organize events throughout the year that highlight programs at Englewood Hospital while bringing members of the community together to support their local hospital.

For more information about the Breakfast Club, please call the Foundation office at 201-894-3725.

Launch Event

“Volunteers don’t get paid because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.” Words of wisdom from Malaak Compton-Rock at the launch of the Breakfast Club of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center on April 27. An excited group of 72 guests, mostly area residents, gathered at the Montammy Country Club in Alpine, NJ, to hear the international activist speak and have her sign their copies of her book, If It Takes a Village, Build One.

Her desire to be of service to her community—she and husband Chris Rock make their home in Alpine—meant saying “yes” immediately when asked to be part of an Englewood Hospital project. The Medical Center’s reputation as a very fine institution that is doing a great job for the community precedes it, Ms. Compton-Rock said. The get-together included brunch and a tribute to the volunteer facilitators of the Medical Center’s Family Resource Center, which provides emotional support and helpful information to patients and their families.
