Mark your calendars for The Kennedy Funding Invitational
Melanie Oudin at the 2009 Kennedy Funding Invitational. Melanie, whose inspiring and surprising run at last year’s US Open captured the imagination and attention of the international tennis community, will return to The Kennedy Funding Invitational this July.
Don’t miss The Kennedy Funding Invitational, one of the most exciting events of the year to benefit Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. The four-day tennis-packed professional tournament is scheduled for July 7-11 at the Dellwood Country Club in New City, New York. Returning players will include Melanie Oudin and John Isner, who both made international headlines during last year’s US Open.The event will include four days of professional tennis and various special opportunities for sponsors, including a Pro Am match. The Saturday night gala, one of the hottest “musts” of the summer social scene, will once again be a fabulous party and who’s who of area residents and supporters of the Medical Center.
The Kennedy Funding Invitational began as a passionate tribute to a friend, Leslie Simon. It has grown to become a powerful statement about the importance of battling breast cancer.In just its first four years, The Kennedy Funding Invitational has donated almost $1,400,000 to The Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. In 2007, the breast care center at Englewood Hospital was renamed in honor of Leslie Simon in recognition of the invitational’s exceptional support of the center. A heart was incorporated into its new logo to symbolize the love that is at the very core of the event. The Leslie Simon Breast Care Center is a world-renowned pioneer and leader in the field of the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
